What Matters

I'm glad Deana was looking for what really matters when she met me. I'm not that attractive. I don't have money. I have some bad habits you don't really need to hear about. I'm not friends with influential or famous people. I'm an introvert with a dry sense of humor and much to critical of others.

But I love Jesus. I am a Christian who desires to know God. I want to walk closer with him today that yesterday, and tomorrow than today. I want to love my wife as Christ loved the church. I want to lead my children to love and honor Christ. I want to be part of a church that impacts eternity everyday.

Chasing the "cute guy" or the "gorgeous woman" is like, as Solomon might say, chasing after the wind. Exhausting. Frustrating. Fruitless. Demoralizing. Demeaning. In the end, still chasing.

And still alone. Even if you caught her (or him).

Not sure why Deana decided on me, but this one thing I do know: I got the best deal.
